WELCOME TO THE BOATHOUSE

Open since June 2020, we’re here to serve you freshly ground Dark Woods coffee, delicious locally sourced and homemade food, fantastic sweet treats and your favourite tipples in the idyllic setting of Newmillerdam Country Park.

As a team we pride ourselves on providing our amazing guests with the best possible customer service. Nothing is too much trouble, and we are proud that over the years we have built up wonderful friendships with our lovely regulars. If you haven't visited us yet, we can't wait to welcome you!

Perched on the waters edge, you will be truly spoilt with some of the most stunning views in Yorkshire.

Please note we do not take table bookings - Just turn up at your leisure!

POOCHES WELCOME!

We are a very dog friendly cafe - your furry friends are welcome both inside & outside at the Boathouse.
We also have a range of homemade doggy treats & puppaccinos, so you can treat yourself as well as your pooch.

BOATHOUSE BAR

We are thrilled to announce that the Boathouse Bar will now be open late every weekend from the 21st June 2024!

All throughout summer we will be open late every Friday and Saturday for you to come and sip your favourite drinks by the dam as the sun goes down

We will be open right through until 9pm with last orders at 8.30pm, so get down early to secure your favourite table!

On occasions where we have private events upstairs it will just be the waterside patio that is open to the public. Otherwise, you can choose to sit on the patio, dining room or rooftop terrace.

(Did we mention our terrace is now equipped with heaters and festoon lights?!)

PRIVATE HIRE

Throwing a birthday party, anniversary, baby shower or just want an excuse to have a good old knees up? The Boathouse is the ideal venue!

We can hold up to 28 guests, 7 evenings a week between the hours of 5-9pm.

We can also provide catering and have a full bar available.

The Boathouse is available for intimate evening wedding receptions of up to 28 guests

We work closely with a selection of incredible suppliers who can offer added extras to help make your day extra special. From celebration cakes and flowers to live music and photobooths, speak to us about your requirements and let us put you in touch with the pros

FAQS

Is the building wheelchair accessible?

Our outdoor patio is wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately there are steps to get to the indoor dining room and outdoor terrace. Our customer toilet also has a small step up to it, and is quite small so would not fit a wheelchair inside.

Do you take table bookings?

We don't, but there will only ever be a short wait for a table if we can't get you seated straight away!

Where can I park?

Guests are welcome to park in the public car park at the entrance to the dam, then it’s just a short walk down the path to the cafe.

Can I hire out the Boathouse?

Absolutely! The Boathouse is available for private hire 7 days a week, from 5-9pm. We can accomodate up to 28 guests. Email laurenboathouse@gmail.com for more info.

Are you open on bank holidays?

Yes we are!

Do you sell gift vouchers?

We do - just pop into the cafe to purchase one. If we don't have the amount you're looking for just let us know and we'll get one made up for you

Do you have vegan and gluten free options?

Yes we do! We always try to have at least one GF/VE cake on the counter.

Any of our sandwiches can be made into a GF salad.

We have oat and soya milk plus dairy free ice cream.

Please inform your server of any allergies or intolerances upon ordering. Due to our small kitchen, we cannot guarantee zero cross contamination when preparing orders.
